Preparation: When testing for this panel, it's best if you can get your blood drawn in the morning. Some tests in this panel should be taken after an overnight (>8h) fast. You can drink water, but do not eat any food during this time.
If you take thyroid hormone as treatment for thyroid disease, do not take your daily dose until the blood has been drawn. Tell your provider about other medicines, vitamins, or supplements you regularly take. Some of them might affect the test results.
Additionally, please do not exercise before the test. It's best that your blood is taken in a rested state.
This panel also includes a urinalysis. Avoid eating foods that can change the color of your urine before this test. Examples of these include blackberries, beets, and rhubarb.
